A cultural and social beacon of Assam, founded on 4th October 1998 in the Nagaon district of Assam, the Eagle School of Drama and Film Institute emerged through the visionary efforts of renowned dramaturg and director, Mr. Birnchi Kashyap. Since its inception, this cultural and social organization has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving the people of Assam through artistic, educational, and socio-economic initiatives.
Initially established as a training center for drama, dance, and music, Eagle has trained numerous students who have gone on to build successful careers in various cultural fields across the state. Over the years, the institute has expanded its vision, incorporating a broader agenda aimed at the economic upliftment of rural communities while continuing its core cultural training programs.
One of the notable initiatives includes the introduction of Milk O Fresh, a line of dairy-based food products made from milk sourced from local cow herders. This venture not only promotes rural entrepreneurship but also ensures fair economic returns to village producers. In addition, the Shakuntala brand of incense sticks (agarbatti), produced by women from nearby villages, and a variety of locally made spice packets have found their place in the local market, further empowering women and small-scale entrepreneurs.
In its effort to address public health challenges, especially related to waterborne diseases, the institute, with support from Tezpur University, has established an arsenic-free bottled water production unit at No. 2 Borjoha in the Nagaon district. This initiative aims to provide clean drinking water to the community and raise awareness about water safety.
Furthermore, the Eagle School of Drama and Film Institute has taken a commendable step toward social welfare by establishing a shelter home and workplace for socially neglected women in No. 2 Borjoha. This facility provides a safe space and livelihood opportunities to women in need, reinforcing the institute's commitment to inclusive development.
